Programa COIL

COIL

Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) enables professors and students from two different parts of the world to carry out academic projects by leveraging digital environments. Broadly speaking, the program consists of the following stages:

  1. Faculty Training. Professors from more than 100 universities worldwide have been trained by La Salle Mexico in specific pedagogical strategies to facilitate intercultural collaboration. This training takes approximately six weeks.
  2. Pairing Process. After the training, instructors are paired to carry out the collaborative project. The courses taught do not necessarily have to be equivalent between institutions, which encourages multidisciplinary work.
  3. Program Design. Professors define the strategy and duration of the project, which can range from four to twelve weeks.
  4. Student Integration. Once in front of their respective groups, the intercultural work begins. In this phase, students are integrated in teams to develop innovative projects.
  5. Evaluation. After the project is completed, professors evaluate their students’ performance. Most projects are focused on the Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations.

At La Salle Mexico, we match faculty members internationally so they can create this intercultural academic experience.

Each year, we publish the registration links in this space at the end of the following moths: January, May, and September.
